Linum has designed, developed and produced high quality textiles for more than 40 years. The company was founded in 1966 by Sven Kempe after he travelled in India. During his time there, the idea of helping people to develop through their own work was born. Today, the desire to support the development in southern India and to combine this with the best of Swedish design, is the foundation for our company culture and philosophy.
Linum remains a family run business and the company is now headed up by one of Sven’s sons, Stefan Kempe.The head office is based in Uppsala, Sweden and the products are sold in 17 European countries. For example, you can find Linum textiles at Printemps in France, Selfridges in the UK and La Rinascente in Italy.
The company employs ca 65 people who are mailnly based in Uppsala Sweden, Lubeck in Germany and Coustellet in France.
